CARLISLE’S FUELS EVENING AUTOTEST

RESULTS:  carlisle results 2018

Some neat driving saw Mark Francis in his MX5  as winner of our May evening autotest with Gordon Buckley a few seconds behind in the A Series Mk2 Midget. In third place was Andrew Blair in the lightweight Nova whose usual trouble free evening was blighted by a broken drive shaft and a faulty memory but still on the podium.

It was a great night for Midgets and Sprites of all kinds, including Frogeyes celebrating 60 years of production piloted by Dermot and Angus Johnson. Midgets with all manner of engines from the humble A Series to Ford Crossflow, Duratec, Zetec, K Series and MX5 were in evidence. The A Series cars didn’t disgrace themselves or show their age.

The concrete surface was very grippy in places and hard to break traction for the less powerful but the tests were excellent. Test 1 was a race around the shed while tests 2 and 3 were more technical, test 2 being open and flowing.

Thanks to our small but enthusiastic team of marshals and to COC Stephen Dawson in particular for a great evening’s entertainment.
