MG SUNDAY ‘RUN & ROAST A MAGICAL AFTERNOON

Anyone planning to run an outdoor event of any kind in Northern Ireland probably needs to have their head examined. However we got lucky and the Treasure Hunt and Hog Roast on Sunday 13th August was a terrific afternoon’s fun. The Sunday Run started in Comber and, after 18 miles of clues, finished at the home of Ruth & Gordon Buckley near Ardmillan village.

There was an excellent turnout of 60 people in a variety of superb classic cars. There were a great number of MGs of all ages and types and a number of Porsches, MX5s, a BMW Z3, a Beetle and a Ford RS2000. Mark Lemon brought along a lovely Morris 8 and David Deering another prewar beauty, a majestic Hillman Tourer. All a delight for the eyes.

The weather managed to behave itself and the hog roast was great. Thanks to Ruth for the desserts and cheeses and to Jenny Armstrong for making the tea and coffee and for bringing the tasty home baked brownies.
